Former First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, UduakAbasi Umondak, has debuts a new self-styled talk-show, The Udy Factor. 

Udy who has had a stint with television through acting and talk show returns to television with a bold and audacious talk-show.
Udy as she is fondly called had ended an unbroken five-year run of her first talk-show, a faith-based programme known as His Word Made Flesh, which highlighted inspiring stories of conquest of the human spirit over seemingly daunting circumstances.
The Udy Factor which shows on AIT since October 7 will be explicit and much of the discourse may be for adult ears, which is why it is scheduled to air between 9:00 and 9:30 at night.


Udy Factor hinges on some social issues which have been consigned to the closet out of ignorance or embarrassment for a long time. Topics like ‘Marriage, the Law and Divorce’, ‘Sex’, ‘Domestic Violence’ are given a clinical finish by experts and professionals in their field. With the increasing rate of divorce, domestic violence and challenges of ageing, the talk-show is a huge relief to a large percentage of the public who are ignorant of the laws that protect them as well as their rights and privileges under the law.
Udy was Ngozi in ‘Mirror in the Sun’. She left to own the upscale fashion house,Colours. Her next appearance on television was as a presenter of the faith-based programme, His Word Made Flesh, which ran for five years before she rested it.
Udy Umondak was the first lady of Akwa Ibom State when Commodore Ndogisit Nkaha (rtd) was the Military Governor of Akwa Ibom state.

National Assembly broke, borrows to pay workers

Cash-strapped National Assembly has resorted to bank facilities to pay its staff their monthly salaries and allowances.But the facilities do not include the controversial running cost paid to lawmakers, as well as the salaries and allowances for their aides. About N4.5 billion is spent on the running cost of lawmakers in the two houses of the National Assembly. The sum of N13.5 million is paid to each senator while a member of the House of Representatives gets a little above half of this. The balance is paid out to legislative aides. In anger last week, legislative aides rose in protest against the non-payment of their salaries and allowances.
