Zombie Contact Lenses Seriously Damage Girl's Eye

Choose wisely when it comes to your Halloween costume – those contact lenses that make you look like a zombie may look cool, but one teen's eye was majorly damaged by the spooky accessory.
The Halloweeny contact lenses damaged 17-year-old Leah Carpenter's cornea, leaving her partially blind in her right eye.
Leah bought the pair of lenses for $26, explaining to USA Today: "It was just for show. That was our theme for the day. I wasn't thinking anything would go wrong."
According to her mom, Leah had a hard time getting them out and one eye was swollen shut the next day. Leah's eye has healed somewhat and she's regained some vision, but according to her mom, it's unclear if she'll regain complete vision.
The FDA's website warns that "a poor fit" of cosmetic contact lenses "can cause serious eye damage, including scratches on the cornea, corneal infection, pink eye, decreased vision and blindness."
