Ex President Goodluck Jonathan Spotted In Abuja Bank

Although the tenure of Goodluck Jonathan came to an end almost two months ago, many Nigerians still take interest in the activities of the former president.

Last week, the former country leader returned from his month-long vacation spent in the United States and the United Kingdom. Mr and Mrs Jonathan left the country soon after the official handing over ceremony of Muhammadu Buhari.
The politician’s supporters launched a massive social media campaign under the hashtag #GEJWhileYouWereAway.
People were talking about Buhari’s politics and performance of the new administration. Some lamented that they had already started missing the immediate past leader.
Several days after his return, Jonathan is in the news again. Seems like the former president can hardly expect quiet life, without cameras and public attention, in the nearest future.
According to the reports circulating in social media, the official was on Monday, July 13, spotted in a First Bank Plc located at Gwarimpa in the Federal Capital Territory. It is believed that he went there to enroll for his Bank Verification Number (BVN).

Cash-strapped National Assembly has resorted to bank facilities to pay its staff their monthly salaries and allowances.But the facilities do not include the controversial running cost paid to lawmakers, as well as the salaries and allowances for their aides. About N4.5 billion is spent on the running cost of lawmakers in the two houses of the National Assembly. The sum of N13.5 million is paid to each senator while a member of the House of Representatives gets a little above half of this. The balance is paid out to legislative aides. In anger last week, legislative aides rose in protest against the non-payment of their salaries and allowances.
