PHOTOS: How Uti Nwachukwu Goofs On Stage

On Saturday, October 31, the fast rising Nollywood actor, model and ex-Big Brother Africa (BBA) star Uti Nwachukwu goofed on stage at the Denim Launch Party, held at Oriental Hotel Lekki, Lagos.
Nwachukwu who was the host at the star-studded event got his fans laughing at him when he made a grammatical blunder while speaking to one of the guests present at the occasion.
The ex-BBA star got his fans talking when he asked the general manager of Daroc Distribution Nigeria Limited, Mr. Bashir Jaber “Sir do you speak British accent?”. This made the audience burst into uncontrollable laughter, saying he should have said, “Do you speak British English? Or Do you speak with a British accent?”
Amidst murmuring about his blunder in the background, the Nollywood star did not feel threatened as he anchored the show as if nothing happened.
Other stars  at the event included Denrele Edun, Yinka Davies, popular OAP Yaw, MC Acapella, Zaaki Azzay, Davido, Kiss Daniels, and Uncle Ben of MTN Project Fame among others.

National Assembly broke, borrows to pay workers

Cash-strapped National Assembly has resorted to bank facilities to pay its staff their monthly salaries and allowances.But the facilities do not include the controversial running cost paid to lawmakers, as well as the salaries and allowances for their aides. About N4.5 billion is spent on the running cost of lawmakers in the two houses of the National Assembly. The sum of N13.5 million is paid to each senator while a member of the House of Representatives gets a little above half of this. The balance is paid out to legislative aides. In anger last week, legislative aides rose in protest against the non-payment of their salaries and allowances. Several sources yesterday confirmed the resort to bank overdrafts to pay salaries of “strictly National Assembly staff,” but the Director of Information to the National Assembly, Mr. Ishaku Adamu Dibal, said he was not aware of the development that had happened at least twice in the past.
