"Pep, you must come to Italy" - Guardiola's coach

– Carlo Mazzone speaks about Guardiola
– Mazzone was a coach when Guardiola was playing for Brescia (2001-2002)

The 78-year-old Mazzone said: “I hope he does well in the Premier League. I know him well and I think he will do the right things. [Could he coach in Italy? That’s a] complex question. I haven’t spoken with him for a long time and I wouldn’t like to get him in trouble but I would like to send him a message through the media: ‘Pep, you must come to Italy because we need to build good victories as you used to do! Roma? That would be the biggest gift I could ever have; I wouldn’t like to be disrespectful to the current Roma coach but everyone knows my friendship [with Pep]. You must come to Roma, OK!”
The Bayern Munich coach, Pep Guardiola has been appointed as the new manager at Manchester City for next season on a three-year deal.

The 45-year-old will replace Manuel Pellegrini, who will leave on June 30. Pellegrini was appointed at the Etihad in 2013 and led the club to the Premier League and League Cup double the following season.

National Assembly broke, borrows to pay workers

Image
Cash-strapped National Assembly has resorted to bank facilities to pay its staff their monthly salaries and allowances. But the facilities do not include the controversial running cost paid to lawmakers, as well as the salaries and allowances for their aides. About N4.5 billion is spent on the running cost of lawmakers in the two houses of the National Assembly. The sum of N13.5 million is paid to each senator while a member of the House of Representatives gets a little above half of this. The balance is paid out to legislative aides. In anger last week, legislative aides rose in protest against the non-payment of their salaries and allowances. Several sources yesterday confirmed the resort to bank overdrafts to pay salaries of “strictly National Assembly staff,” but the Director of Information to the National Assembly, Mr. Ishaku Adamu Dibal, said he was not aware of the development that had happened at least twice in the past. It was gathered that August and September...
